We are proud to support the Capitol Smash event hosted by The Military Muscle Foundation (MMF) in partnership with CrossFit Petworth.
We are supporting for many reasons, with the first being to help raise awareness for a very real problem in which many of our military veterans are faced with today: suicide.
Many vets see their life situation to be hopeless and therefore suicide seems to be the only option. The rate at which we are losing our vets and current military members is alarming. Everyday, 22+ veterans and 1 active duty service member takes their own life. One of the main goals of MMF is to get this information out to the public and get as many people involved in the fight to help those who have stepped up and fought for us!
The second reason is to help raise funds for MMF so they can grow as a foundation and have a larger impact on seeking out and helping those who are in need! The Capitol Smash event is free for all to attend, but there will be opportunities for those who come to make donations, along with a silent auction. 100% of the proceeds raised from the auction will be given to the foundation.
The final reason is for supporters to come out and have some fun with some awesome people. This event is meant to bring people from all walks of life, fitness backgrounds, and military and non-military together for a great cause. There will be something there for everyone!
